Belong School Devon are delighted to have been selected by South West Water’s Neighbourhood Fund for a grant of £600 to support the school’s first aid training programme for students.

Belong School Devon aims to teach all students the skills needed to practice first aid, building confidence and self-esteem on the way. The ability to help someone in a medical emergency is a small but important part of Belong School Devon’s broader mission to ensure all students are able to become thriving, successful adults in a modern world, which goes beyond qualifications and academic learning. South West Water’s generous support means that the school is in a position to provide training for all students in skills including CPR, wound care and the use of community lifesaving equipment such as defibrillators.

Belong Devon’s Learning Coach Champion John Green met with Olivia Crisp from South West Water to receive the cheque on behalf of the school. Olivia explained that the neighbourhood fund is open to applications and selects a number of local causes to support each month with donations to fund a huge variety of projects that will have a positive impact on others in the community. More information on the neighbourhood fund is available at South West Water’s Neighbourhood fund page
