Belong School Gloucestershire’s students are celebrating after receiving some excellent results today. Students have taken a range of different exams, both GCSE and vocational and in a variety of subjects including GCSE Business Studies, History, PE and Hospitality & Catering. These support the qualifications they have already achieved in subjects such as Art, Blacksmithing, Landscaping & Food.

Headteacher Janie Ashburner:  “This has been a fantastic year for Belong School Gloucestershire and I am exceptionally proud of everything our students have achieved. These grades represent incredible hard work and perseverance from our students, many of whom have had difficult experiences with education and been to multiple secondary schools. Belong School Gloucestershire students will be moving on to further education placements/apprenticeships with mainstream providers such as Glos Col, Prospects, Bridge Training & Ground Ed to do courses ranging from Construction, Patisserie, Health & Social Care to Land Based Studies and Blacksmithing.

“We are increasing our exam offer year on year and next year students will have the opportunity to study over 15 different GCSEs and several vocational subjects including: Barbering, Blacksmithing, Construction & the finishing trades.

“These fantastic results follow on from a section 5 Ofsted inspection in June, where we were judged to be good in all categories. Within the report there is lots of recognition of how skilled the staff are in relational practice and what an impact this has on the school in ensuring it is a calm and work focussed environment. Our results today show how important this is in allowing our students to achieve their potential.”
